Meet Gian
Gian Panetta is a lifelong Moraga resident passionate about our educational system. He attended Los Perales Elementary and Joaquin Moraga Intermediate and graduated from Campolindo High School in 2011. At each stop along the way, the Moraga School District made a life-long impact that enabled a personal research project to turn into an influential motion on Capitol Hill and the front cover of The Washington Beacon, which inspired a best-selling author to dedicate a chapter about his grandmother in her recently published book for kids ages 8-14. Gian hopes to help create a similar impact for the next generation of Moraga students.
Gian’s work on the Moraga Local Sales Tax and Oversight Committee has given him the proficiency to monitor financial reports, budget proposals, and project evaluations that keep the complexity of our local government accountable and transparent, giving our residents confidence in the high ethical standards we demand from our elected officials.
His professional work in finance and insurance has made him acutely aware and skilled at tackling family and business budget concerns.
His leadership as President of the Moraga Chamber of Commerce helped him understand how to build partnerships with multiple public and private organizations to keep the organization steady yet growing while navigating it through the Pandemic.
